I guess its about time

Hi,

I never realized it was so long since Ive written ...... I was having computer problems. I have a new one now so maybe I will add entries more often. I don't have any pictures yet because the hard drive went in the old one and I lost a bunch of pictures.... It won't take me too long to add more though I bet. My new computer is pretty nice, I have Bose speakers and the music sounds really nice now and I also have a 24inch screen so I won't be needing stronger glasses now :>)
I just can't think of all that has happened so I will just blab a bit.... My son and daughter in law just were here for a week from Florida but it wasn't a good time for them as Teri's mother fell and was in the hospital and she then died... too young. She had a stroke a while back and was just home with her sister watching her. Her sister went out for a minute and teri's mother went on the porch while she was gone and her walker must have gotten stuck or something and she fell on the cement and was taken right to the hospital but with the blood thiners she was taking they couldn't stop the bleeding and she went into a coma and died....  Maybe after not being in here for so long I should think of something happier to write about.... sorry
Our weather is cooler now..... only into the 70's this week but so nice with the sun shinning! We are getting the yard ready for winter. Cutting back and adding mulch and pulling the weeds for the last time. Boy do we need to get rid of the weeds. I had gout and couldn't do much for about a month and they got away from me.... One way in the back must be 6 feet high. I suppose I could call it a wild flower couldn't I? haha
We took Twinkie and Peaches for a groom and they look so nice. I would take a picture but they are having their afternoon siesta ( after all they are chihuahuas) Not doing any yard work today because I have to play with my new computer and besides Leo and I still ache from the last time. maybe tomorrow------ sounds good to me. :>)

Summer is here

I thought it time I put in a few pictures of my flowers.... hope you enjoy.
We are going to get new neighbors very soon.... maybe this week end, it will be so nice to have neighbors there again after a year with no one in the house.
Peaches is getting healed but not enough yet. When she is all healed they will take the wires out and then she will be able to walk again.... I hope. She is getting around quite well on 3 legs but Im sure she would rather be walking on all 4
We are going to a party in a week or so for our Grandson and his girlfriend, they got engaged and are having an engagement and house warming party, they bought a house and refinished it all so it will be nice to see. maybe I will get some pictures. I hope.
I haven't been doing much this summer. Just the day to day things and reading a lot.

Update on Peaches

Yesterday we took Peaches back to Appleton again because she isn't using her leg and the vet here and the vet there thought she should be.... we got there and they took another xray and it looks like the pin had shifted and was too long and was bothering her so she had another surgery. they opened the site up a bit and pulled part of the implant out and closed it with a few staples. She was so tired yesterday and is still quiet today. she does stretch her leg all the way now but doesn't try to walk on it. the bottom part of the bone is healing but the top part doesn't seem to be doing as well. he thinks it will take more time for that and he said eventually all the implants will have to come out..... poor dog but she doesn't seem to be in pain today so thats a good thing.
One of these days I will have to take some pictures of the yard. I have been working a little but just when Peaches is with me or someone so don't do much at a time. I have tulips and daffodils in bloom and a lot of the perennials are starting to show some growth...
   You can still drop by Janice anytime . lol

Peaches

Peaches broke her leg yesterday falling out of bed. We took her to the Vet and then had to take her to Appelton ( about 35miles away) because it is the worst kind of break and the doctors there are specialists. $$$$$ but she is so worth it and there is still no guarantee she will walk the same again. We have to carry her out and have her on a leash for her potty trips and that is the most she can do for 8 weeks. So I will be busy with her I guess. When we aren't with her she must be kept in her kennel.  Probably wont be making too many comments but we shall see. Just wanted everyone to know

Spring came to Green Bay this week

I figured I should put some pictures in today of my spring flowers. After the snowy and cold winter we had this year its is amazing. The trees are starting to bud out too so things should be right on schedule again this year and it never ceases to amaze me.
  I have had gout for the past 3 weeks and am finally coming out of it.  At least I got to church on sunday and even a little shopping for a birthday present for my Great grandaughter.  I still have to get one for my Sweet grandaughter Mindy who has a birthday this coming Monday.
Its very very windy today..... guess to dry things up a bit before we get some rain the rest of the week.
   Im watching american idol tonight, I don't really like the songs they are singing this week .... the ones I like the judges don't so I guess I won't have my favorite stay this week  but then who knows.......
   Hope whoever reads this is having a wonderful week and your weather is beautiful..... it really does make a difference doesn't it

STILL MORE SNOW IS FALLING

Here are some pictures of the snow we got yesterday... 9 inches and its snowing again today. we shoveled and shoveled and used the snow blower and the piles of snow are so high I don't think I can reach the top anymor by the patio. Its pretty but I have been stuck in the house for far too long now because they don't seem to plow us out very much and our roads are very slippery with the ice under the snow. It will end soon. haha  I hope you enjoy the pictures and I suppose the snow mobilers,skiers and sleders are haveing a wonderful time. The kids got the day off so they are mostly busy shoveling the stuff I suppose.

Jan is finally over

We are still cold here and will probably get a bit more snow tonight but it looks good for the Ground hog and its shadow, supposed to be cloudy tomorrow so spring may be a bit earlier. Seems like we got a big load of snow early this winter so maybe that will stop but we won't be getting Spring until March Im sure
My birthday is tomorrow..... 71 already. I think Im grown up now, what do you think?  maybe some people never grow up but just grow old?  Im trying and am Happy so thats what counts I guess.
Leo just brought me a nice bouquet of my favorite yellow roses and all kinds of treats. Im so spoiled..... lucky me.
Not much happening around here for me ~ but I did enjoy the debate last night  and am reading a book that is pretty good so what more can I want. well maybe if the roads were clear I could ride my little white car around and find something to do but the roads are full of snow and ice where I live so I will let Leo do the shopping and driving for a bit yet.
The book Im reading is called"Queen Of Broken Hearts" by Cassanfra King. Its a nice fat book, a little over 400 pages and Im enjoying it, but it will be finished soon.

life goes on

We lost the game and everyone around here is so sad. Life does go on and we are gearing up for another snow storm. supposed to get 6 more inches. will it ever end? 
Today they have flowers for sale on QVC... it will be awhile before we can plant any though and it seems everything they are selling I already have..... I can save my money for another day I guess, lol
Yesterday we went shopping after church again, the roads were clear but the parking lot at the place where I get dog food was all ice. I guess the salt etc doesn't work when its so cold. I made it into the store and back again so I did well. then we went to Wal Mart and I found just what I was looking for for my window. I have snow flakes now but for Valentines day I wanted red hearts and they had just what I wanted, amazing isn't it.
Last night after the game I finished reading a book and started on another.. A huge one with 5 novels in it.... all by Gustave Flaubert. Im reading Madame Bovary now. I thought I read it before but it was so long ago I don't remember so am reading it as if it were the first time. So far interesting and a complete change of pase.
So there you have it ~ my not so interesting life in a nut shell..... Spring is around the corner and it will get better. Now I have to go do my laundry. No hanging out today because they will probably freeze before I can hang them up.

PS  if you would like to know how cold it is here in Green Bay, watch the Packer game tomorrow evening and you will see, Im sure. Its nice and sunny here today but that usually means bitter cold at this time of year.

Snowy January Sunday

Darn, I forgot how to add pictures again. I know there is another way but can't find it right now. Thats what I get I guess for now putting them in often enough. Janice can you help me again. you told me last time and Ive forgotten again

I know if you click on the little ones you can see them bigger but I wanted you to be able to see them in an album and when I do that it just gets so long it changes the size of my journal.
Anyway we were having a good time shoveling and the kids accross the street were having fun making snowmen and Charlie was looking out the window watching it all.

Still enjoying summer

This is the first time I have seen a frog like this one in our yard so had to take a pic. It was on our porch railing last night. Leo yelled at me to hurry and get my camera. lol couldn't figure out what he thought I could take a picture of at night but I "m glad he called me... I think it was busy eating a bug at the time.
Sure has been awhile since I have been in here but I have been enjoying summeer and reading a lot more than usual. I enjoy it  very much especially sitting on the front porch. the weather isn't quite as nice lately thought. very humid and raining off and on and mostly cloudy. we are so lucky its not flooding around here..... not yet anyway.
We are fine here .... new neighbors moved in my friend Pats house accross the street and it looks like we will be getting new next door neighbors next door too. seems the bank forclosed on the house..... the one accross the street is a young woman and I think I may be getting someone my age next door.... will let you know if and when we find out.
Hope your summer is nice and its cooling down a bit for you now. I am looking forward to Fall this year.

Still alive and kicking

I took a picture of the rose bush Mike and Teri got me the last time they were home. the flowers seem to be smaller but their are more. Seems to me I read somewhere if you want bigger roses you should snip off some of the buds if there are many. maybe I will try that next time. the moss roses sure did thicken up since I planted them didn't they/
Its very warm and humid today so Im spending most of the time inside where its nice and cool. I was reading some of the Harry Potter book but after about a chapter decided to come in and play on my computer for awhile. :) I will go out again later ~ winter is too long so I am going to enjoy summer while it lasts. too hot for pulling weeds anyway....:>)  not my favorite job and the last time I had a backache for 2 days.....
Mike said he and Teri would be coming home in October.... Teri loves halloween and Shari and Dan will be having a Halloween party I guess. I think I may have to get a bigger aero bed for them... the twin size is too small and last time Mike slept on the sofa. they have higher ones now too and it will be easier to get in and out of... give me something to do and plan for.... I started washing windows and got 2 finished.... maybe I will get more done by the time they get here..... do you think??????
I should have lots more to write about but really haven't been doing too much.... reading a lot thats for sure. I just love sitting on the porch and reading in summer time.
I will try....... really I will to come and write more often. Hope you are all haveing a wonderful summer and a good day,

our new church

I added the pictures wrong and after writing a nice size entry I had to delete it because I entered the pictures wrong. Now I have to do it all again.............The pictures are of our new church. I happened to have a camera in my purse when we went there after mass to sign the alter stone. It is going to be so nice to have such a big and beautiful church.  the old one was nice too but it was way too small. They are going to wait until Spring to transfer the stained glass windows. It will be so beautiful then it will be hard to leave at the end of mass.
Saturday Julies husband Mark celebrated his 50th birthday in grand style. everyone had a good time....Lots of people there I didn't know but lots I did. All my family was their except for Mike and Teri and Tom and Cindy because as you know they live in Florida now. Teri's cousin has a very good band(they play for openings of famous singers etc) and they volunteered to play for the night... very good too. I will probably add a few pictures tomorrow or so. I have laundry etc too do today and have to get started.
The weather here has been beautiful and now I guess rain is in the forcast.
Rick is on vacation this week and Carley will be spending it with him. They have big plans so I hope the rain doesn't put a damper in it.
So off I go to eat breakfast and do housework... hope you are having a nice day, Sandra

Now If I could only get the writing larger so you can read it... always something to make my life a challange I guess.
 Our next door neighbors are moving out today.... it was totally a surprise but noone is sad I guess.... Maybe now we can get some better neighbors ~~~ anyone?????
I didn't do much today. I did go to Canturbury farms again to get another geranium and they had a cute planter for the front I had to get too.  They have a sale I guess because the bill was $5 cheaper than the pot alone was supposed to be and I didn't know until I checked out. They still have some beautiful flowers too...... maybe I will have to visit again.... you never know.
Then I went to the library and got 2 books and found out I already read them but I started reading one of my old books and found out it's hard to put down  so I guess I will go back and read some more.
Hope everyone is having a beautiful day...... It is certainly beautiful here in Green Bay.
