Lady Alice Lily

My special Lily just opened yesterday and it wasn't at all what I expected. I thought I sent for an old fashioned tiger lily, the kind my mother used to grow and it isn't anything like it. I sent for it in a very good catalog and it was so expensive ~ the picture looked just like the right one and this is what I have... I really think its beautiful but now I am still looking for the right kind... funny but I guess it was meant to be. I was eating a popsicle or should say finished eating one and instead of putting the stick in my mouth or on the ground I just had to keep it in my hand.... maybe the next picture I take of this beauty won't be with a popsicle stick.... lol  I had to hold it up as its not really a hardy plant yet.... I planted it too late but hopfully next year it will grow stronger and multiply. I planted 3 but the others are even smaller.... I blame planting it too late and the weather.... . So enought of that. I hope the picture is a better size. The picture of the rose was longer so I must have taken it side ways and didn't size it right....

I did it

So I got another picture in but have probably added it a couple of weeks ago... I don't know. Happy to be able to do it though. maybe I couldn't get the other one in because I didn't take it ~ who knows. At least I'm in and maybe will get somemore in later in the week.

I came in this afternoon to add a picture and chat a little but I couldn't get the picture in no matter how hard I tried. I think something is mixed up again with my hometown so I will probably be adding pictures this way again as I can't figure out what I did to cause the problem and am not smart enough to check out my computer so there goes my fun ~ maybe another day will be better.
It was a nice sunny day today and yesterday with a temp in the 70's just like I like it to be when I have yard work to do.... The yard work is on schedule so far.... I don't want to cut things back too soon but some I have and it looks a lot neater now.
   I went to the doctor yesterday because I haven't been feeling well and he told me to stop taking one pill for a week to see what that does and basicly stop eating as much.... what a joke as lately I haven't been eating much because of my stomach ..... He did give me some good pointers though that I will be trying to follow as best I can... I sure hope it works....
  Anyway I came in here because I wanted to show off this cute picture of my Great Grandaughter  Morgan.... She is a cutie and so friendly and happy.
So tomorrow is another day and maybe I will try again. I hope you all have been having nice days,  Sandra

Happy Labor Day

Mindy, My grandaughter moved into her collage dorm yesterday. I hope all goes well with her. Its a big undertaking in her life and everyones who love her...At least its not so far away that she won't be able to get home from time to time.... maybe even every week end like my son did when he went to Oshkosh. She and her room mate sure crammed all they could into the small space they give them..... now all they have to do is find their classrooms and figure out a good daily schedule....
   Today is labor day and its raining here.... we need the rain and we did have a nice week end so we are not complaining at all.

My little family

I got 2 more little people and now I have my whole family Me and Leo and our 7 kids, lol
I thought I would put a cute picture in today so we can pretend I'm not a bit worried about the kids in Florida.... Mike just called and said the wind gust was about 50 mph around noon and it rained but the sun came back out and its 90 out .... so he took the dog and went out side for awhile and Teri stayed in the house and is cooking so they don't get hungry while the storm passes through..... good for them.... Mike used some special nails and good tarps for the roof and he really taped up all their windows good.... no wood left but nowhere to nail it in either so he is satisfyed he did the best he can do.... I wished him well and he said he would call to let me know how they are doing when the next one comes..... some neighbors left because the kids were so scared.... most of his neighbors are still home ~ thats a good thing I guess.
Hope you are all having a good day. Its darn hot here in Wisconsin again today... I think Summer is mixed up this year. It would be nice now if Winter forgot to come but I have never heard of that happening, lol

Hurricane Francis

It could be getting weaker so they say... I hope so anyway... even so there will be a lot of rain.. yesterday Mike and Teri were going to go and look for tarps for the roof... I heard today there aren't any left and everything else is getting scarce too. Teri looked for water and she said there were only 2 bottles left on the shelf.... Its a shame they didn't have time to stock their shelves and the gas stations before this one is coming.... no one in their neighborhood has gotten their roof repaired yet.... I suppose its a shortage of shingles.... Thats hard for me to figure out because a son of mine used to be a roofer and some of them would go to states that needed roofers and he never said anything about not having enough shingles. There sure are a lot of people leaving the state aren't there.... wonder where they are getting the gas as they are rationing it now to $10 a car and some stations ran out.... Then when they run out of that where are they going to get more gas? If they run out on the highway it could be just as dangerous as if they stayed home.  What a mess. I never heard of such a thing before but I'm sure learning now.... you would think they would get prepared after all this is hurricane season... and its not like its never happened before.... good ole governor bush.... something like his brother I guess.
See how crabby I can get when I worry..... sorry but hope everyone else is having a better day.

Working in yard

We were working in the yard this afternoon and it was hot out so Leo figured out an easier way to transfer the containers to the front to put in the van to take to be recycled.... I had a lot of weeds and plants I cut back and he had some grass and a lot of leaves... our back yard tree is losing all its leaves very  very early this year... Pretty soon the tree will be bare already.... This summer was a bad summer for the tree that was having a little trouble already last year... Hope we don't lose this one too but we might.... I'm going to water it good tomorrow and see if that helps a little.
   Mike , our son, called today and he has his plane ticket bought so He is going to be coming soon.... It will be a long time since he was here last.... when he came when our son Dan got married about 6 years ago or so. Things have changed a lot since then so he should be kept busy. He wants to go fishing with Leo and play golf with Leo and his brothers and go to a Packer game so he should have a good time.... I suppose I will have to cook some good meals for him too... It will keep me busy while they are doing their thing. :)
