Arbor is going up.

Leo did a good job yesterday. He went fishing early this morning though and it is not in place yet... He has to wait until he gets some cement to anchor it in place so he might as well go fishing this morning. After all there isn't anything that is going to be climbing up there any time soon by the looks of things..  He has to attach some metal steaks and then bury them into cement. I can hardly wait. :)
Did you see what that fly lady wants us to do today? Polish all the cupboards ~ now I know that will take longer than 15 minutes. She is getting a little pushy isn't she? I did some cabinet doors so far but I have a lot more to do. The ones I did really look nice though so I guess I will have to finish... Not today though. I think I will ask Leo to help me with the ones I can't reach with my step stool. Being short has advantages and disadvantages, not really sure which this one falls into yet...
We didn't get any rain yesterday, bad for the grass but good for me because Leo was able to put the arbor together. Doesn't look like rain in the future either. Maybe it will reach 60 in the next few days. Much better than snowy days and very cold so I'm happy!
Hope you are having a nice day, Sandra

Still nice today

It's amazing what one nice day can do for the flowers. Every year I am amazed again. You would think I would come to expect this to happen but I never do... It seems impossible to be true after the winter we have. God is truly Present I say. It's a nice present for us that have gotten through the winter.... I'm very happy and "Dad" I have a big smile on my face these days.
We went shopping today and after we came home we decided to go again after we had lunch.. this rarely happens but I keep thinking about the arbor I saw at Steins and we had the money so as long as it was still wanted as much after a month went by we went to get it... Leo has to put it together and he has it on the front porch and is figureing out what he has to do first... I'm so glad he agreed to get it and put it up for me. I sure couldn't do it myself but he seems to think it will be easy. I guess some of it is already together but it still looks like a lot of work. I may have to dig 2 plants out and trasnplant them but its worth it and maybe I will have more room to plant my morning glories this way. I will be putting in lots of pictures with it as a focal point I'm sure.
I'm watching tv and they are showing President Clinton and the 2 Bushes in Rome. I'm glad they are there for us... it means a lot I think. They need to be there. The Cardinals will be picking a new Pope starting in a week and a half.... I sure hope they pick well and I will be praying for their guidence.
It is so sad about the tornadoes around the south. Mississippi for sure and Alabama too. We were supposed to get thunder storms today but so far its been a nice day. You just know it didn't rain because Leo put the fertilizer on the lawn yesterday. I guess fertilizer isn't like it used to be and it won't burn the grass anyway. Leo said not unless it gets into the 80's.... then if it hasn't rained we will be watering. I don't think that is going to happen though so it will be ok. Today after Leo power raked yesterday we have some crocus' in bloom where we used to have them around a tree. The tree is gone and now the crocus' are blooming in the grass... We love it !
Hope you are having a nice day today too,
Sandra

Cleaned Cubbie today

FINALLY I cleaned out this cubbie that I have been thinking about for the last 2 months... You should have seen it before.... wow it was so jam packed I had to hurry and close the door when I put something in there.... I took a whole set of Encyclopedias plus the year books and I threw 3 garbage bags full away and also had a bag and a box to give to good will... Can you believe how much stuff I can "stuff" in a small space. Actually its a pretty good size as you can't see there is stuff behind the plastic boxes on top... How nice to now actually find what I am looking for in here. ONLY took me 5 hours ~ LOL
While I was doing this Leo was power raking the front and fertilizing it.... He said he was going to do the back too but I don't think he will today. Its a big job even if he used both lawn mowers to do the job. One for raking and one for picking it all up. Now if we have a nice warm rain it should look ok this year. We make a good pair today because we are both pooped out... :)
I finally got the pictures in from Home Town again... I think it was my fault I didn't get them in yesterday. I am impatient and probably didn't wait til one thing was loaded before I tried to open another window or something like that...
Hope everyone else is having a beautiful day today. My computer says it 73* here now.... I have all the windows open and am airing it out. I think I will eat lunch on the porch or patio now.... I know its already 3 but I was too busy to eat and had to calm down a bit before I ate or relax a bit I mean....

Spring Flowers

I couldn't get any pictures in the large way today... It was so easy the last couple of days and we're back to the ole frustrating hometown... sure wish they would be able to fix that so it works every time.
Anyway I got some pictures in of my early spring flowers. I was working in the back today and got 2 large garbage cans full of leaves etc .... Im also doing the laundry and I wanted to finish cleaning the cupboards next to the fire place but Im too tired now... I went for a walk this morning again with Peaches.... I think we walked slower today, but we got all the way around the block anyway.... It should be good for both of us... I have to get Twinkie on a leash soon... he just hates putting a collar on and then when I do he won't move until I take it off.... I guess he's a free spirit and I don't blame him but then he doesn't get to go for a walk with us either...
Well gotta go and get some lunch as its already after 2. Hope your having a nice day today too, Sandra

Sunshine

I couldn't get this picture of my other dog Twinkie in right so I am sending it small again....
I went to get the paper this morning and Peaches followed me out and she started walking so I put her leasch on and we went for a nice walk.. It would be nice for both of us now if she does this every day. I think maybe she didn't want to because her toe nails were too long... don't know but now she is raring to go. Maybe its the change in the weather although its only 36 this morning. The sun is shinning though so Its going to be a nice day.
Leo is fishing.... the Walleye are biting and I guess its the best spot in the country right now to catch them. There are a lot of people fishing but some of it could be its still Easter vacation. He will be happy when vacation is over so he can get up and move around and someone won't take his spot. :)
Hope everyone is having some sun today, Sandra

Back to Flying

CAn't think of an April Fools joke this morning. :( I have been busy working again the fly lady way. I am a little behind because of my sore muscle in my shoulder but am better now!!!!!! I was supposed to clean the living room any way this month and mine is still clean.... I did dust etc but was supposed to look under the cushions but I haven't yet. Was supposed to do the 27 fling boogie Mon. Wed and Fri but didn't really do that either so today I started cleaning the cubbies next to the fire place finally.... she said only take what you can put back and get done in an hour. I worked for 2 hours this morning... I had to move books from in here to bring my World books in and that took awhile.... I had to clean out a shelf with yarn and put that in a basket on the shelf in my closet in here and then take  some of the golden books to put there and also give some of them away. I then had room for the world books. Then back to the cubby to clean some more. I took a lot of pictures out of frames and am going to put the pictures in a book or box and will take up much less room... saw that on the tv show "Clean Sweep" I believe. so I gave away books and old Packer papers and threw away a lot of yellow papers I was keeping. Most of the stuff can now be found on the internet can't it... Im so tired of just trying to find anything in that cubby. I always just try and straighten it up but I decided now it was just too full of stuff I don't need. Between the fly lady and Clean Sweep my house is getting cleaner. funny though I still have a lot of stuff.... wonder when it will end.
Last night I picked up after Leo and he wasn't finished with it yet... he says Im getting obsessive about it but really Im not. He was just wanting to go fishing I think, LOL
