Thursday already, where did the week go?

I thought I have been writing in here more..... I have been busy I guess. the weather is so nice that I feel like working lately. Monday and Tuesday I started working in the yard.... getting rid of some flowers to make it look neater and then Wednesday I decided the living room could use a little neating up too. so I changed around the furniture and cleaned it good.... and today was the Doctors to get the clamps out of my head. It went well and now I just have to let it heal a bit more and soon I will be able to actually comb my hair the right way again. so Im happy.
We have been having neighborhood trouble with a group of boys that seem to just be hanging around one house and getting into all kinds of trouble. Someone now figures if they put a camera aimed towards the house and show it to the police they will have to do something about them..... I wonder. they have way too much energy and way too much time I guess.
So thats about it for me. I think I will go and watch David Letterman now so Good night and I hope tomorrow is a good one for everyone. Sandra

Beautiful Sunday

Thought it was time to do a little journaling myself instead of just reading and commenting now and then. It was such a beautiful day today. After church we went to Steins (I was looking for a wreath for my front door) but didn't find anything at all. Came home ate lunch and spent the afternoon reading on the patio. It is such a lovely day!!! Oh and I didn't say but the doctor called to let me know my lump was not cancer so I have been floating around here lately. Thursday is the day I should get my 10 or so clamps removed if it is all healed enough. He said sometimes he has to leave a few in. Now I feel like finally doing some yard work and getting on with my life....... finally. It's so bad that I let a thing like that take over my life sort of.... other things have been going on around here too but things are doing pretty good now. I guess I can't expect everything to always go the way I want. Like another Son and Daughter in law moving to Florida.... I like all my little chick a dees near me but they have their own life and must live it as they like.... also Rick's x wife is planing to move out of the state and Rick has to go to court....  I hope things work out for him as she can really be mean. say a little prayer. he is a wonderful father but she like full controll. She is always telling him she comes over here too much.... if it were up to here our family would never see her and she loves coming here.....
I finally joined Pogo because I love to play canasta so now I can get into all the games anytime and not just when they decide to give me 2 free weeks.  So now besides reading and yard work I also have games to play. LOL

My lump is OFF

My lump is finally cut off.... the doctor said he sent it to the lab but the test may not get done because he may use it as a golf ball.... I have a funny and very nice doctor! the freezing isn't out yet so I am hopeful the pain isn't too bad. he didn't think it would be but if it is he will prescribe pain meds.... just have to use what I normally use for pain if I get some... I sure hope not. It was a new experience getting my head frozen..... My whole scull felt like it was burning for a minute but then it went away. I am so happy its off and I have a regular flat head again, LOL
So Iam going to get sympathy from my family today so I will use it and just sit and read and watch tv or something like that.... I deserve it >>>> right? haha
It's a beautiful day here so far. My favorite kind of day (except for the surgery) so I will hopefully enjoy it.... oh and guess what, My other doctor said I would have to have my hair shaved around the lump because of the stitches,so yesterday I went and got it cut short because I figured it would be awhile and no I did not have to have anything shaved .... jokes on me. He put a bunch of clamps in my head but not the old fashioned kind I remember from when my  son got hit in the head. My husband likes my new hair cut though so its ok.

Journaling for how long?

All this talk about journal anniversaries got me to look up and see how long I have been journaling. This journal has been going since Nov 7, 2003 but that is just when I got this new computer. I started journaling before but since I had to start over with a new email address I  don't know when I first started but it looks like it was close to the beginning.... its been nice but I am getting lazy with mine lately and don't post entries every day any more but I read everyones every day and when I'm finished I don't have much time to write in mine..... (my excuse and I'm sticking to it)
Tomorrow is the big day... I have to go and get a lump cut off my head.... so maybe I will come in again tomorrow and let you know I survived it.... :)
Leo was going to the store yesterday and ran into our son Ricks car that was parked in the road accross the street. He knew it was there but guess he wasn't thinking so now he is going to the insurance office to see about it.... he dented the back door and his bumper has to be fixed too... we feel so bad about this but he works for the car dealer so it should be fixed like new...I sure hope anyway.
After church yesterday we went to the store and I got a new pair of red slippers.... I love them because they are so comfortable and I love red. :)then came home and watched the race. Rick and Shari were over for awhile too so that was nice! Shari brought me some of her tomatoes because mine got blossom end rot this year. :( so I just threw the plants out.... I planted them in pots so I won't be doing that again... they were beautiful plants and the tomatoes were plentiful but they all got the rot even before they got big.... lesson learned I guess. Shari's tomatoes taste very good and I will be having some sandwiches with them today.
We are supposed to be getting rain today so its starting to cloud up this morning. We still need the rain.

Beautiful days now

Hi everyone
I finally got some pictures in here from Mikes short vacation. It went so fast but he had a wonderful time and a lot of pictures were taken so he has his memories too.I think I have about 200 pictures all told.... so the 42 I put in is only a small sample. LOL I have everything cleaned up and all the laundry done etc, but I have some pictures in an album already and some good memories for me too. The weather was perfect and he went for a few long bike rides in between outings. He drove Garys new car to go visit a friend and had the vacation he said he has been needing for a long time because he has been working hard and long hours.
The weather here has been cooling off so I started to cut back some of the plants in the yard that need it.... Everything grew so big this year and some of them actually look rather messy so I am going to neaten things up in the yard now. It will give me something to do for the next month or so because I don't plan on doing it all in a day.... When you get old you can do it that way and it is nice. I got one garbage container filled yesterday so I have started.... it should be all taken care of by the time the snow flies again. haha

Friday already?

It's Friday already... the week went pretty fast. Our terrible humidity and heat left finally. It will be in the 80's today and nice. I think I will hang a few things on the lines today and finish getting ready for our son Mike's visit. He will be here from Sunday to early Sunday next week. Looks like a good week coming up too. So I'm happy. Yesterday I cleaned out my computer room to make room for him to hang his clothes and put the airo bed up..... and room for his suitcase etc too. He likes it in here because its quiter and has 2 nice windows and a tv and computer in case he can't sleep. I won't be able to be in here as much but thats fine for only a week.
I have to get busy now so I can get some groceries in the house too.... all his favorite things, :>)  I hope anyway....

Try 100 degrees???

The tall ships came into the port of Green Bay this week end so we went down town to get some pictures and I thought I would share them with you.... they turned out pretty good... I took my big camera so I could get closer.... We went early in the morning before all the people came and before it got too hot. It's really going to get hot today.... they say it will feel like 115 but "only" go to 100. I was just out there watering some of my plants and its pretty hot already. I sure hope our air conditioning keeps working or I will have to go and spend my time in the basement where its always cooler. Thats were we always went when it got hot as I was growing up.... We spent many many summers without it.. I think its only been about 6 years since we got ours too. We did have one in the window before but then It's so much nicer to have it all over the house.... now I'm spoiled.  Just today and tomorrow I guess and then it will go back down into the 80's. I like the 70's so much better though with night time in the 60's or lower.
I think I can go do a little house work now and then water the pots in the front later.... Hope its cooler by your house, Sandra
