Trouble fixed?????

Hi,
   I looked into My Pictures because that is where the trouble seemed to be coming from and I deleted a few pictures and the journal works fine now.... I didn't know you had to delete from there but it worked so whatever works I guess... anyway Im happy I can use my journal again.  Sorry the pics are too big again though Janice. I will try to fix that too.... I will get it right yet, lol

Trouble in the Journal

Peaches and Twinkie went to the groomers today. Doesn't she look pretty? they even put bows in her hair. If I can get in here again I will put in a pic of Twinkie.
I don't know what the trouble is but maybe you can't get into my journal either. As soon as I get in there is something about youve got pictures that pops up and then it says to press ok and I do and nothing happens... the journal is gone. I clicked on to add another entry right away so I don't even know if this will get in or not. I wonder if I have to fix it somehow or it will eventually fix itself... I only have seconds to do anything before it disappears.    :(  Sandra

Another nice day

Charlie is waiting for an important phone call I guess or he just found an empty spot to observe the area.... good ole Charlie.

I finally remembered how to add pictures from Hometown again. I got lazy for awhile and then I forget how to do it... LOL Then while I was going through my files to find some addresses etc I came accross a card telling me how. Now I will be able to get my pictures in without you being the one that has to make them bigger...

I have a sore muscle in my shoulder that has been causing me much discomfort the last couple of days. I guess it was because I was trying to get the snow to melt faster and was shoveling the heavy stuff off the big piles in the back yard.... I hope I remember not to do that again. I am too impatient I guess. We have been getting days around 60 lately and you wouldn't believe how much is melting.... well I suppose you would. :)  A couple of days ago everything was still white and now we only have a few little hills along the edges... It is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow so that will help too. The only problem is there is cooler weather behind this and we will probably get hail too... hope not.

If anyone wants to hear Dr Dyer speak a little he will be on QVC at 9 tonight. I stayed up until 1 last night to hear him.... I have the tapes he is selling but I did buy another book today called Manifest Your Destiny .... I have the cd's but I wanted the book too. Makes a lot of sense to me and he has helped me a lot or I mean what he says has helped me.

It's Warm today

My daughter sent me this picture of Morgan and Brenna in their Easter dresses. Its second to actually seeing them but its nice never the less.

We are finally having a beautiful day today. I didn't get my laundry finished today yet because I had to go outside and sit on the porch for awhile. When Leo got home he sat with me and we talked about his little operation today. He had a growth on his eye lid that was getting bigger so he went to a plastic sergeon our dr recommended and got it removed. he had 4 little stitches put on the eye lid. they said tomorrow it would probably look like he has a black eye. It went fine and he feels fine.... The doctor called him a tough old bird, LOL Leo said the doctor was younger than our kids.... lucky if he was 30 but he was really good.

We then went to Wal Mart to get a few groceries and a sewing machine we can put in the closet ~ My sewing machine is in a cabinet and the big tv is on the cabinet and I can't get it off myself and Leo doesn't like doing it either... I can mabe store my new machine under the old one. The old one was getting kinda old and the price of the new one was really really good. Now I hope it works. :>)We mostly want it to hem our pants and do a little mending when it comes up. I think if I wanted to make something big I would take the tv off.

I have lots of flowers in bloom today.... white, purple and yellow so far..The daffodils are budding out in front too. The back yard is a different story but maybe by the end of the week I will see some signs of life back there too. I put my table on the patio but didn't bring the chairs up because Charlie was laying on them ( they are stacked up) and I couldn't do it. I had a quilt over the chairs and he looked so cozy. I will take 2 and leave two for him I guess until it really gets warm outside.I'm pushing the season I guess but I can't wait... It says its 63 outside today..... I think it was for awhile. It really felt good to sit on the porch and just have a warm flannel shirt on..... Love Spring!!!!!!!

HAPPY EASTER

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter.
I should get to bed but I'm not tired ( I slept too late this morning) Did you color eggs? I did and it was fun. Did it a different way with the dye and decals in a box and you had to sponge it on and Leo and Rick got into the act and we all had a good time... All I can say is they are shinny,LOL but they will be good to eat tomorrow.

Snow melting day

Today the Fly Lady said to clean out the jewelry boxes and get rid of Jewelry you no longer wear or haven't worn lately..... is she nuts? I believe you can never have enough old or new its all good to me... So instead of doing that I decided to wash my heavy winter sweaters and put them away until next winter. I then had room to put my summer tee shirts. I still have a lot of cardigans in the box on my shelf to wear with the tee shirts.... Im not dumb.... I know its still pretty cold and can get cold even in summer but not the winter sweater weather. So that took me awhile today. I still have some warm clothes in my closet and some summer things downstairs but I got a good start. Im anxious for Summer.
I'm listening to Katie Melua again today... I sure do love the way that girl sings!
Today is Good Friday and I will watch Mel Gibsons movie today..... Its going to be hard but I think I will watch it between 12 and 3 and it will remind me of how HE died to save us.....

Yellow Finch

I have been seeing the finches etc at the feeders every morning but this is the first time I have seen one all dressed in yellow!!!!!! Does this little bird know something I don't know...... Maybe just maybe the weather is going to warm up for us. I sure hope it does as I have never seen a yellow finch until we have warm weather.... I am ready!

Not much else happening around here. Yesterday was a busy day though. We cleaned out the little pill cupboard... funny how much stuff you can shove in a small space... now we have a lot of room in there again. I also cleaned out 3 craft drawers in my computer room and gave away at least 35 things. then we went to get gas.... $2.19 a gallon... whew. Good thing I don't use my car much I guess. It will probably last me 3 weeks or so .... not bad. Thats why I like my little car. Then I had to go to Walgreens and call the doctors office to order some pills for Leo and had to go all over town to get some more yarn to match the poncho Im making because I decided to make a bigger one. Then I paid my bills, the only thing I didn't do that was on my list was to water my plants.. got that done this morning though.
Today was the day to clean off any flat surfaces in the bedroom and dust them. Ours are still in pretty good order but I decided to clean out a box on my dresser and doing that I found some things to get rid of. Now I have a whole day ahead with nothing to do... Maybe I will crochet but I just don't want to sit all day. Leo is gone to wash my car so I'm stuck for awhile. I hope he comes right back after he is finished. :)

Flowers in bloom can make anyone smile, I think.  I have planted hundreds and these are the first to bloom this Spring.

I also had to take a picture of me wearing the poncho.... I couldn't resist. My daughter Shari wants it and it should look good on her and maybe Mindy will get to wear it too. I hope!
I started a new one this noon for me.... I hope. The yarn and the pattern came in the mail this noon.Its going to look a lot different because its a different yarn and different color but it should look good with my jeans.  I will feel like Im back in the 50's again ----- in my mind anyway and it will no doubt make me smile whenever I wear it... Wonder why they ever went out of style.

Our last snow of the season?

We are getting snow and its not supposed to stop until we have 8-12 inches I have heard. Just a wishin and a hopin its the last of this year. Cross your fingers for us ~ we are getting sick and tired of all the snow we have had. Now I know others have gotten more but somehow that doesn't make it ok..... know what I mean?
  Today was like a free day almost with the fly lady. The extra thing we were supposed to do today was take a bubble bath or a shower with favorite shower gel and it has to last for 15 min.... I always use my favorite shower gel and I try not to have it last for 15 min as I don't want our water bill to go too high. So I didn't pay much attention to the fly lady today... It was a 27 fling boogie sort of day today though and I did do that.... threw out 27 and gave away 27. I cleaned out 3 kitchen drawers and I was shocked at how much I had gathered in those drawers. I decided to give a lot of doubles and triples away and I  had so many knives that we couldn't possible use them in a life time.... Wonder where all that stuff comes from. I guess from not being able to find anything so I buy new..... well no more. I gave about 50 things away I bet and 50 or more threw away and now I can open a drawer and find what I have with out searching. Its going to be a treat everytime we open a drawer and think of the time we will save when we know were everything is so fast.... LOL Just when I feel so good about myself and my cleaning I find another spot to declutter.... I wonder if I will ever come to the end.... Probably not as I do keep buying don't I...... Leo is getting nervous..... he thinks Im going to give something away that we need. He should know me by now. How does he think the drawers got so full I wonder.

PS... I ordered some Lily bulbs today   :) 29 different color stargazer lilies. I thought stargazers were only in pink but they had yellow and white ones too

Pretty sunny day

We were busy shopping this morning because a big snow is on the way later tonight and supposed to last til Saturday sometime. But it will melt fast and Spring will come. I'm sure of it.
I finished making the yellow poncho and am starting to make the crocheted pin to wear with it... I made Leo try it on to see how it would look on someone and it looked great on him,,, hehe  Too bad its not a style for men, huh? I haven't tried it on because I didn't want to stretch it if I am going to give it to Mindy... I can hardly wait to see how it looks on her.
  Leo is on his way now to check out the fishing and see if any friends are fishing. I think I will make the pin this afternoon. I found some pin backings for it at Wal Mart today... could only get a pack of 20 so if the pins turn out maybe I will be making more pins too.

I finished the poncho this afternoon... well I made the flower and pined it on anyway... I hope Mindy wants to wear it now.... I would if I were her... I had Leo try it on and it looks really nice on someone taller and thinner than Iam.. LOL Mindy is tall and thin so it would look soooo nice on her. I only hope she likes it too and will have fun wearing it... if she does I will put a picture in someday.  I don't think Leo would have liked me doing a pic of him wearing it though so I didn't try for that...   :>)   Sandra

Snowing today

Today we have to clean our combs and brushes.... Fly lady has a new way.... new to me and I will try it and see if it works any better... You put a pot of water on the stove and bring to a boil... then you add some soap and your combs and brushes that you have taken the hair out of and put them in the pot, take the pot off the burner and let them sit for 15 min.... then take them out one at a time and put on a towel and clean with a tooth brush. I usually just put the water in my sink and go that way but we shall see. LOL
Today also is the day to clean out the refrigerator of unnessary things and clean up any spills.
I think I also will clean out my junk drawer .... supposed to clean in bathroom but mine is clean except I will wash the curtains in there today. Also have to do the 27 fling boogie...haha  I have one thing in the bag today already so I only have 26 left.... should find some things in the junk drawer I think.... not to give away but i think to throw away... time will tell.
So I will keep myself busy on this snowy sort of day... We are only supposed to get an inch but its supposed to snow a little for the next 4 days.... WHEN WILL IT END I wonder.... 4 days til spring. :) then what?

So Im taking a break..... I got the bathrooms windows finished... windows washed and curtains washed and ironed and hung...They look so nice! I also cleaned all the combs and brushes and it worked pretty good, maybe I will do it again like that some time.... if the flylady reminds me, LOL  I also looked in the refrigerator but all is well there and then finished doing the door windows and the mirrors and threw in a load of towels and made the bed and straightened the kitchen.... all is well but I still have that junk drawer I wanted to do today and get rid of 27 things..... I had to take a break...... funny it doesn't sound like I did much but my back is aching so I have to take a rest... I have all day after all don't I?  

Fly Lady Strikes again

Guess what we are doing today with the Fly Lady.... cleaning our faucets. Have to take a toothbrush and scrub them.... haha  Well I decided I needed to get a little calcium deposit off and went to K-Mart and got some Lime away and other things too and came home and cleaned my faucets.... I found a place under the pull out knob I had never cleaned before.... cuz I didn't know it was there... I pulled the knob all the way out and took the tooth brush to it.... not too bad but it was a little dirty and now I can see the shinning copper that is under there. Sooo thanks to the Fly lady my kitchen and bathrooms have nice shiny faucets today.... just like brand new and the bathroom ones are 27 years old and the kitchen one is only about 10 or so.... They were clean but there was some calcium and that dirt under the faucet... Wonder what we will do for her tomorrow. I still have to finish cleaning the mirrors and door windows from yesterday because I had so much other stuff to do... monday is laundry day and found 27 things to give away and then had to clean the bathrooms and that took awhile but they are really squeeky clean today and my laundry is finished and put away.... maybe I will finish the mirrors and maybe just finish making the poncho... I did the mirrors and doors last week after all and the bathroom ones yesterday....

These pictures are for John's assignment for the week. I couldn't just put one picture in because the room is small and couldn't get a big enough picture of my space. The rest of the house doesn't look this crowded any more but I can't get rid of much more in this room... well maybe I will but I have to think about it for awhile .... Poncho

Front half of the poncho is finished already.... sure goes fast... just have to do the other side  ( its the same) and crochet a rose for the front.... I don't know yet if it will fit but I will make another one because its a fun thing to do.... It will be a good Spring Poncho or for summer nights I think... I used a Jiffy brand yarn and not what they recommended because I wanted it for Spring...  cute huh???  :)

I am watching the race and so far our favorite racers are doing pretty good in lap 137.... sure hope it continues... Jr didn't make it.... He has to do something because he is falling behind.... shouldn't have changed things so much and maybe his mind wasn't on the race... you think?  Hope he does better next week.
  So back to crocheting and watching the race.... have a nice day, Sandra

yellow poncho

I think the poncho will fit either Mindy or Carley.... its sure not going to fit me...at least I don't think it will. Thats ok though as it would look better on either one of my Grandaughters I'm sure... I think its the crochet hook Im using... Its not the kind I normally use and doesn't look as big as it says.... I bet my size K would work as well if not better than this one but its fun and I will finish it and maybe even make a flower to wear with it like I have seen in so many places lately... The pattern is supposed to fit size extra small to extra large and I usually crochet too big... Im looking forward to finishing it and trying it on someone. It seems to be my luck lately not getting things to fit properly.... maybe I should stick to afgans but you can only have so many of those after you have given on to every member of the family...
Anyway have a nice day and hope your driver wins the race today if you are a race fan.... and to my southern friends I hope you are enjoying your wonderful weather......lucky...

Nice Sunny Day

I got the shopping done yesterday and went again today. :>) sometimes I like to shop and sometimes I don't. We got a box for Leo's sweaters yesterday but he didn't put the sweaters in it yet. He did put it on his shelf though... Then I put one I bought on my shelf and moved one I had for odds and ends to the shelf in the spare room. then I found some drawer deviders in that closet so I put them in a couple of drawers .... what a nice difference that made. I Love seeing everything at once when I open the drawer instead of looking under things etc... My drawers were nice and clean but these deviders sure are much nicer. Wish I would have learned of these a hundred years ago  :) I showed Gary today and he said now you are really going overboard aren't you?  LOL  I love it. I found a  more to give away yesterday and the day before so we went to bring 4 bags to Good Will yesterday.... I hope someone enjoys my stuff.
Today we went to a yarn shoppe and I got some Lemon yellow yarn to make that Poncho Martha was wearing when she got out of prison. I figured I needed a brighter color and am having a lot of fun crocheting it.... I got an easy pattern from www.bernat.com  I also ordered one from Mary Maxim and should have this one finished by the time I get that one... That will be more of a prison grey so not as cheerful as the one Im making now with the yellow Jiffy yarn and I have a pretty new Lavendar chrochet hook.. Its a lot of fun... Hope it fits me so I can put it on when Im just sitting around when we are having a chilly evening.  If the one I ordered doesn't have a pattern like this one I will use the pattern with the yarn they send because this is a lot of fun to make and it goes so fast.

Snow day

Hi,
   I hope you are having a good day today! Iam even if it is snowing AGAIN and I had to change my plans. I wanted to go to Target and see what they had for containers to put the sweaters in but it is snowing and the weather man said it was slippery this morning so I decided to clean out the pots and pans cupboard....... I have been putting it off but was in the mood today. I found 2 bags of stuff in there to give away and some things to move into a different spot and now I can see all the pots and pans.... I still have many but they look nice now.... I should take a picture ~ but hope I can keep it like that now. I put 2 very large pots downstairs on the shelf because I don't make such big containers of soup etc anymore and they are too nice to give away yet.... never know when you may need a huge pot do you, LOL   I could make a big pot of soup and have all my kids over and their families and it would be just the right size.... Anyway I got another cupboard cleaned... its a double so lots of things fit in there.
   Now what to do....should get Leo to play a game of some kind with me but he would rather watch tv.... That might be a good thing to do but I get too antsy during the day just sitting watching tv and not doing anything.... wonder how he can do that. I bet fishing got him to know how to relax. Maybe I should learn to fish so I can sit still. When I sit and watch tv it seems I always fall asleep during the comercials... and then wake up and don't know what is happening in the movie.... What a life I lead, huh? I know I shouldn't complain and really Im not. It's just that its that time of year when Spring should be here and I can get to work out in my yard.... Should be here in a little over a week they say and I HOPE.

Freezing sunny day

Most of the snow is melted from the streets and driveways even if it was very cold... The sun at this time of the year is very warm and soon it won't give the cold weather a chance.... haha 
Today I did a little house work aka the fly lady and my bathrooms are sparkling and so it the kitchen and bedroom etc... Leo has to vacuum but he will take his time getting to it... Yesterday he was looking for shirts to recycle because of getting new ones and only found 2 he didn't want so I told him he must give away 2 other things for the remaining shirts and he found some old hats ( 40 to be exact) to give away. They were lined up on his closet shelf. Everytime a truck driver came in to report he would give Leo a hat... he still has about 15 left that he will keep for fishing. He or the kids are always buying hats... you know baseball and golf and racing etc... someone will be happy to get some new hats from St vincent de pauls I bet too. One year he gave them to someone to give to cancer patients... can't find that charity anymore so we will give them to someone else this time. He is going to copy me and put a basket on the shelf for his sweaters so he has more room in his dresser.... I just am so happy we found that fly lady!!!!! :)
We must hurry though and get it finished because Spring is around the corner and gardening and fishing will start soon and then I bet we won't be finding so much in the house to recycle.... We can always work on the garage then and the yard.... wonder if that counts?
So now I think I will run to the recycle bin with the hats& the 3 bags I have in my trunk and maybe do a little grocery shopping....

ps.... Leo just started vacuuming. :) He is waiting to go to his doctors appointment so he has time on his hands.... nice, huh?

SNOW

SNOW SNOW SNOW When will it end. It got cold again today and the snow is covering the ground now where we had it all cleared from the warm weather yesterday.... boo hoo........ So I do my laundry and clean house again..... getting sick of it and want to go out and play. :)
I don't want to sit and knit or crochet or read anymore. I think I got enough rest from my last summers gardening and am ready to get my fingernails dirty again....:) But I can't change the weather. There must be a reason for it so I will try and get some patience and wait for warmer days. We do have one more week til the Ides of March so it isn't really late it is just my impatience I guess.
   I will "Smile" Dad and think of something happy. I'm lucky I have a nice warm house and some groceries in the house.
I have 3 bags of "stuff" to bring to recycle but don't want to drive in the snow because the roads may be icy and I don't have to go today so I won't. Tomorrow I will need something to do too. I'm watching a gardening show on QVC right now and I will pretend its nice and green like that outside.... It will be soon.

A Melting kind of Day!

It got warm today.... 50 something and the snow is really melting. It was actually too warm to be wearing my winter jacket this afternoon. A first for us this year and it sure felt good.

We went to Kohls shopping after church today and Leo found the best buy.... He was so happy after he couldn't stop talking about it... He got 6 new long sleeve shirts for $3 each. One is a denium and the others are a cotten and cotton blend type and all good name brands he would have had to pay at least $25 a piece for if not on sale and he got them all for $18. When we go shopping he always looks and looks and looks and never buys... imagine my surprise when I saw him heading to the check out with 6 shirts in his hand.... and he even said he was going to look for 6 shirts to get rid of too.... that fly lady is wearing off on him.. I got a nice leather purse on sale and a square table cloth for spring... I like having a little table cloth on my table every day... So we both got some things today.
Rick and Carley came over today and they were playing with a ball outside in the street ~ no jackets and they were warm..... Amazing.
Now we may be getting more snow tonight or tomorrow but we got a taste of spring at least so it won't be so bad anymore.

ps... just looked at my husbands shirts so my son could see them and they were maked from $40 to 34 so it was a better buy then I thought... and they are really nice and he will wear them because they are the kind he likes.....Would have been $225 if not on sale and he got them for $18..... you had better head for Kohls before Tuesday the lady said but I bet the sale will last as long as the clothes last....

Where do the days go?

I just noticed I haven't written anything in here since Wednesday~ where do the days go? Its that darn fly lady keeping me so busy, LOL Yesterday we had snow... enough to keep me home with out anything to do. So I cleaned out a drawer and a shelf in a closet and got some Easter things out to put around the house... I just noticed I don't have any fingernails left from all the work the fly lady is making me do...... So I filed them down to nowhere and will wait for them to grow again.... at least my house is getting clean.... you would think I had the messiest of messy houses but thats not true. Never had anything much laying around and always did the dishes and made my bed and laundry was always folded and put away.... trouble is it was getting harder and harder to put away because I just had too many clothes and the same with the other stuff... Now its getting pretty easy. I still have a couple of things to clean that Im putting off.... I have a couple of spaces with stuff on each side of the fire place... they have doors on them so you can't see whats in there unless you open the door. I cleaned one last fall but the one that has all the picture albums etc is bad.... I think I have to keep all the pictures but I have a lot of them in frames. I will never hang them up again and someone on one of those declutter shows said to take the pictures out of the frames and put them in an album or box... that is what I plan to do... it will make a lot of room and then I save some special papers and magazines in there too... don't know what Im saving them for so they will go too but I just can't get started in there.... should take much longer than her alloted 15 minutes I guess. I started in the basement again too the other day when I didn't know where else to go..... One of these days Im going to get rid of some of my husbands things if he doesn't watch out. haha
It's a sunny day today and should warm up to almost 40. I would be so happy if it does and some of the snow melts... I want it to be gone by Easter but I have my doubts. Its supposed to be warm again tomorrow but then get cold and snow again.... and it looks like the whole week will be cold. I was looking at the map yesterday  on tv and we seem to be the coldest place in the country... that doesn't happen much so we will ride it out and Spring is around the corner....... I HOPE.

Charlie

Charlie stayed around me all morning while we were waiting to go to the vet for his check up and shot... I told him we were going and he stayed still while I cut his nails and brushed him... He is such a honey... Vet thought so too but he said he was too fat. He put on his papers he weighs 18#s but it really said 17 & 3/4 :>)  Don't you wish you could relax like a cat does.... I wish I could. I should take lessons from Charlie I think. Trouble is he really does sleep too much usually. Oh the vet told me to see if he would like to play with a lazer beam for 15 min a day too for some exercise.... Otherwise he will have to get some new food for chubby cats.

Another cold sunny day

Its not even 9 o'clock here and already I have my work finished and a load to take to St Vincent DePauls bin... Its so amazing that Im still finding stuff I no longer need, use or like. Gotta say like because I have a lot of "things" around that please me even if I have to dust them. The trouble with this fly lady way is that when I go shopping now I don't buy nearly as much because then I have to give something away... Yesterday I got 2 new hot pads and it was easy to throw away 2 of those and I got a nice square lined basket for the top shelf in my closet to put my sweaters... don't figure I have to give a basket away now though as its for making my closet neater after all. I had put sweaters on the shelf but then it was hard to pull one down with out messing up the whole stack so I got the basket and it will be easy to pull down and put back. Im so darn short ~ thats my problem with taking the sweaters down.... I needed a step stool or ladder and this way I don't and it looks really nice and now I have room to put my purses up there too... :) Today was the day to clean out the refrigerator but its still nice and neat from last week and nothing in there we aren't still using. I'm supposed to clean the windows in my front door today. haha.... big job, huh? I cleaned out my sewing basket this morning so now I can use it again... actually I put some yarn in it because I don't really need it for sewing.
   Yesterday Gary came home with two Norah Jones Dvd's so I will be able to finish watching those today. I wish I could find one with Katie Melua on too as she is so good.... think as good as Norah. Well gotta go.... just saw a nice short sleeve blouse on QVC I think I will buy if there are any left in my size.... Have a fun day, Sandra
