This is a picture to remind us what winter is like..... Johns assignment for this week... makes you wonder if the heat or the snow is better... one extreme to the next.... actually it was a little warm shoveling as you can see I put my mittens in my pockets as my hands got too warm, LOL So which would you rather have is the question I guess..... Snow and winter are easier I think.... just a little shoveling now that we got our snow blower and don't have to worry about watering or pulling weeds and cutting back etc etc ...... also have more time and energy to keep the house clean.... but summer has its good points too. I don't have to put layers and layer of clothes on when I want to go somewhere and I can go and sit outside and read or talk to the neighbors easier....
Today is another warm one but the sun is not so hot yet... its still a little cloudy at 9 so maybe it won't get to 90 again today. I don't like 90 :) what is your favorite? Feb or July?
Yesterday I decided to buy some of those hostess cupcakes at the grocery store... sorry I did as they aren't as good as I remembered them... funny how they used to be so good and aren't anymore... I will have to try the twinkies next just to see if they are still as good. Have you tried either lately? what do you think? Now I have a whole box and what to do????? guess I will freeze them and take them out when Carley comes over... maybe its a kid thing and she will like them.... who knows
Hope you have a nice day today, Sandra

After all the bright colors of summer I'd forgotten how bleak winter looked. Even though its in the 90's here today - I'll take that over winter !!! Thanks for the reminder ! 'On Ya' - ma
I felt the same way about Suzy Q's (those devil's food cake Hostess snacks with the white cream in the middle that came 2 to a pack) - tried them again a few years ago and **blech** - the filling recipe must have changed. I remember how good they used to taste for morning break at work with a cup of coffee 35 years ago...or maybe my tastebuds just changed lol. I'm just glad we have 4 distinct seasons in beautiful Wisconsin so when we get too sick of one, we can look forward to a change every 3 months :) It keeps things interesting and gardening is practically a 3 season hobby here now and that's a good thing.
LOL! I LOVE this one. On days as hot as today, makes me wish for winter. (For about a second, cuz it will be here before we know it.)
Haven't tried hostess cupcakes, since our daughters moved away from home. I try and buy the Pepperidge Farm cakes...when they are on sale. Who wants to bake this time of year? ~Deborah
You do look happy on this picture Sandra. But as long as you asked, I definitely prefer summer with maybe l or 2 months of winter thrown in. I feel very isolated in the winter and so cooped in! I love all the beautiful flowers in the summer and so much green. Also love the kids being out of school so they can come over more. I really hate to sweat, but I'll put up with it.
Regarding the Hostess ..... I tried the Twinkies because I used to LOVE them, but they aren't so good anymore.
Hang in there, it's going to get cooler.
