Hi

It has been so nice out lately! We are truley blessed. I have been working in the yard and reading along with the house work etc. Not much going on around here lately I guess. Finally getting to know our neighbors a little more.... they are the exact opposite as Terese and Jim were~ Probably in every way possible. Today I learned they have two cats along with their Bull dog and of coarse Jim and Terese never had a pet. I guess they let the cats roam the neighborhood too.... I saw the grey one the other day and she said she had a grey one and a black persian or something like that.... too bad she lets them out in the neighborhood though. Oh and Jim always took such pride in the lawn... and this guy finally cut his today but it looks worse now... He cut it so short I wonder if he is trying to kill it or something and of coars all the clumps of grass are still there. he didn't finish so the mower is sitting where he left it this afternoon, he was on the cell phone while cutting. hehe  Leo thought he would help him last time he cut because we heard he has a bad back .... well guess what, he cut ours on the side like Leo did for him.... nice guy but Leo is not happy because he cut it way tooooo short and of coarse he left the grass lay. :) Interesting things happen when you get to learn the new neighbors habits. I told Leo to let it alone but he really thought he was helping and was going to cut his whole lawn until I told him not too.... good thing as he would have cut ours then and boy Leo would have had a fit then...:) I told him to just take care of ours and leave the neighbors alone.... now he knows why at least. They seem like very nice people though what we know of them. I was talking to her today and she said when she worked she was a dog and cat groomer. She wanted to know what kind of dogs we had though as she never saw long haired chihuahuas before. She probably didn't believe me. :) She was telling me how bad her back was because she is still emptying boxes etc... I wish those kids and that girlfriend would help her but it seems she is doing a lot for them. I guess its her job to take the garbage and recyles out to the curb and back as she has done it now for the last 3 weeks. If you saw how bent over she was you would feel sorry for her. I was coming out to take ours back in and noticed the garbage truck driver got out and helped her bring hers to the house... what a nice guy! She has a little cement dog on the porch so she can get up that step and into the house.I told her she should get someone to put a little railing there for her. I was telling her I was making that afghan and she said she couldn't do that anymore as she can't look down. I have to count my many blessings don't I? Leo can't look up either but I was talking to the neighbor accross the street that is a nurse at the cancer center in ST V's and she said he should go and get a soft neck brace to give him some relief for his neck. She also said he should go to his doctor and see if he would recommend him to go to a rehab center to learn some exercises for his neck...He said he is going to do both but so far he hasn't done anything about it. If it were me I would have done both a long time ago...He is always in pain and its hard for him to sleep. Doctor gave him pain pills but that is as far as that went. I think if Leo goes just for the neck he will get better results.
I really have to stop feeling so sorry for everyone all day or I won't ever be happy again I'm afraid.... I will keep smiling and I bet that will help won't it.... Dad says :) and I think he is right about that.
We are supposed to be getting our house painted but I don't really know when. Garys friend said he would do it as he has some time off. He also said he was going to come over with some samples of paint colors too. I don't know if I should stay home every day until he comes over or what. I don't want to pester him as he said he would do it in his spare time and get the paint at a 50% discount. Maybe it will be next year though if the weather doesn't stay warm... It's perfect to paint now but I suppose he is busy. He is looking for a house to buy and that takes up a lot of spare time too. I will let you know what happens or what doesn't happen. It's not a matter of life or death but it would be nice to have it painted as I really don't like the color it is now.... an ugly ugly green. I want it painted a pretty soft color to match the bricks in front.

Lazy day

Just thought I would do a little catching up today.... answering questions, doing laundry and taking a sweater back that was too BIG...LOL I just grabed the wrong size is all ~ I didn't lose any weight yet.... but I will keep trying.
There weren't or have their ever been any grapes on that grapevine behind the shed. It was good for making grapevine wreaths though but I do have anothe grapevine I can use for that in a different spot.
We went to Krolls west yesterday.... I had a hamburger and Leo had the chili. They make great chili too. Not the same as chili johns but we get heartburn from that now so we don't go anymore. If I do get hungry for it though they sell the meat part in most freezer sections at our grocery stores now.
I didn't know about the seeds from the morning glories changing colors so I will just save them with the rest to put in back on the fence or something then and buy my Heavenly Blue again next spring. Thanks for telling me, I would have been disapointed next summer.
So Now I will go and finish some laundry so I can remake the bed etc and its lunch time too.... Hope you are having a nice day... Looks like a couple of rainy ones heading our way too. Sandra

Still no new pictures

I decided to write a little just to say what  I have been doing, even though we haven't been doing much of "interest". Yesterday Leo decided to cut down the wild grapevine in back of the shed. It was growing like crazy back there and it was growing into the neighbors fence and since we want to be good neighbors and all we decided to cut it out completly this time. a few weeks ago I trimed it and it was worse then before. so he cut it back along with some ferns and things and put round up on the whole thing after. Then I helped him cut the vines to fit in the barrels and helped him with the evergreen that was growing over the shed... between the two of us we got that trimed and put in another barrel and then I said as long as you have the trimmer out how about the white birch?  We got 3 bigger branches cut and a lot of smaller ones and now it lookes a lot neater back there but still pretty. we also cut those branches up and put in another barrel and then I cut some off of the humming bird vine as it was getting hard to walk under it again. Now we have more fresh air and it's no longer a jungle back there. Trouble is Leo's neck is sore and so is my back but we will get over it. We needed the exercise! Now all I really have to do back there is cut some plants down in the bigger garden and I will be good til fall. I found out how the seeds on morning glories grow too. I have never seen that before because the heavenly blue flower so late but this year I have different colored ones that started blooming early. those seeds are in little brown balls ~ there are about 3 or 4 to each ball or maybe more as I didn't keep track. I put them in an envelope for next year. I have my eye on the heavenly blue though as they are my favorite and hope to find some seeds for them too.
Today we went to the sale at Kohls. They didn't have what I was looking for but we did find a couple of bargains.... Leo a really nice pair of golf shorts for $8 and I got a couple of nice bras and a cake pan.... one of those blue silicone Kitchen aide  ones that are able to go into the microwave or oven or freezer and dishwasher.... you just aren't supposed to use a sharp cutting tool thats all. they were on sale plus my 15% senior discount.... Then we went to Krolls for a hamburger.
So it was a nice couple of days...... hope you are enjoying your days too and hope you can get a couple of nice days as far as your weather is concerned, like we have beengetting. Its supposed to get warmer but only in the low 80's so that should be just fine.... Take care, Sandra

Nice Cool Day

It was the perfect day today so far---- I got up at 6:30 and by 7 I was in the yard trimming and pulling weeds. I had to have a sweatshirt on because it was so cool. I can hardly believe that but it's true. :) I got 2 big trash containers full to the brim after pushing them down to get more in. It is starting to look better now and pretty soon I won't have any feelings of guilt for not taking care of my flowers like I should. You should just see my tree rose. It is full of buds again. Leo was fishing so he didn't help but after lunch he did cut the lawn so all is forgiven. He is taking 4 containers and a bucket to be recycled now. Its a good feeling to know the yard looks better. I raked up some spots in the front yesterday.... the spots where we may be losing grass because we didn't water it when it was so hot. Hope we don't have to reseed but it doesn't look promising. I just raked it up a little where it looked like hay so maybe it will get some air to the roots and if not I will have to rake it harder and put some seed in those spots and make sure its watered.... hope it comes back by itself.
After working in the yard I went to the store to take back a movie ( I got the wrong one) and then picked up some groceries for making peanut butter cookies with choc chips in them..... sounds good to me but I haven't made them yet. it is a recipe I found for a cookie with both my favorites in one cookie.... very good! Now if and when I make them I will have to make sure I don't eat too many... maybe I should freeze some or give some away... can't give them to the new neighbors because every time I go to say hi to them they turn their head or pretend they don't see me..... wonder what that is all about. I guess they have only one thing on their minds yet, moving is a big thing and takes all your time and energy I think. I noticed the neighbors accross the street have more stuff in their garage now and can't put their cars in again..... The other neighbors accross the street ( the ones that moved out before selling) are taking all their carpets out of their house today. I wonder if they are going to paint every room too. It will be a nice place for someone then won't it. Actually he is there telling the kids what to do. He did take the door off so they could remove the carpeting though.... what a guy.... haha
So thats it for today. Now I think I will go and read a little because my bones are aching from all the work I did today. Not used to it anymore I guess.

Beautiful day

I guess its time I took more pictures again, huh? I will but I haven't gotten anything new to take pictures of lately. We had more rain early this morning and my guage said it was another 3/4 of an inch. Iam still not complainig though as we sure did need it... The trees must even be happy now I think. In our yard it is now 4 and 1/2 inches in 2 days. Not bad.
Our new neighbors seem to be busy yet. I guess that accident he had set them back a bit and they stopped moving the things out of those big boxes. I did notice though that there was a vase of flowers on the window seat by the front window so it must be getting better.
My poor little Twinkie got a swat by Leo yesterday for barking at something under the fence so he isn't going to that side any more. I made Leo promise me not to hit him anymore though as he is so tiny he may hurt him. Now he goes back to the other side and barks at their dog. LOL Charlie got out today too but I thought he would come right back because the grass was so wet ... not a chance. he was at the fence in two shakes... he really can run when he wants to. I got him back in in a few minutes though as I suppose he really didn't like being wet. He is a good cat but when I have to carry him back in the house he is pretty heavy and its a bit awkward carrying him back in the house.
I needed some exercise today so I went out front to trim some plants and pull some out and take care of a few weeds too. It looks better already. I like doing that but the sun was beating down on me and then it wasn't fun any more. Tomorrow its going to get cool so Monday I should be able to clean up the backyard. I like doing that especially after a nice rain.

Rain beautiful rain

It rained last night.... boy did it ever rain. We got 3 & 3/4 ". Isn't that a good thing for us that were suffering a drought. We didn't get wind or too much thunder and lightening but some close by did and I'm so sorry for that. There were 18 tornados that were spotted last night in Wisconsin. I guess 5 in our valley. One person was killed to. That is so sad. Too bad we can't just get a nice soft rain for everyone to enjoy. It is going to be in the 80's today and tomorrow but then it will only be 72 on Sunday. I guess from now on the temp. will be good for me and just hope the humidity will be lower too.
After that nice rain it should be easy to pull weeds again. I think I will wait until Monday when its cool.
I haven't had my coffee yet and really don't know what I will be doing today..... it should be a good one though and hope you have a nice day too, Sandra

Good Afternoon

Its been a good day so far. Looks like rain soon but you never know do you...... It's getting very humid and the sky is cloudy, not the rain clouds but just not blue. I went to the post office this morning because I had to mail my bills and get stamps. The last time I got stamps I got those big Disney ones and others that were big. My son said why don't you just get the regular ones with the flag ..... so I got some of the regular ones with the flag to please the men but I also got some with pretty flowers to please me... Next time I may get some big ones again, you never know. Then I went to Wal Mart for a few things. They have some bird seed there I like to get for my bigger feeders.... it has cherries in and some peanuts and sunflower seeds. Iam sure the birds just love it and probably the squirrels do too. Then I got a couple of small cans of cat food. I was reading about cats and it said cats are not like dogs as they need meat to live a good life. It said the dry cat food isn't enough for them so I will try and see if Charlie likes it and then I will cut back on his dry food. I would think the dry food I get is just fine as its probably one of the most expensive brands but this person or persons seem to know what they were talking about and I want Charlie to be healthy. My dogs get dry food but they also get food from Leo and Gary. I suggest to Gary that Pizza isn't good for them but he won't listen. I guess he figures if its good enough for him its good for the dogs..... I think that is why they are overweight but no matter how many times I tell him I am sure he still gives them some...
Now back to my new neighbors..... he and a friend unloaded the four containers that were delivered and 4 more came but in the meantime another friend came and it took them both to get the man next door into the van.... He must have hurt himself moving furniture I would guess..... I think the people that moved out did it a better way.... the "Two Men and a Truck" moved all the big things for them.... they moved boxes but they didn't have big ones, they made sure. I feel so sorry fot the guy though because if its his back I know what he is going through because that happened to Leo too and he had a hard time getting in the car to go to the hospital. Once we got to the hospital it was easier because someone came and brought him in.... Some men are so .... whats the word? maybe proud or just embarresed that it would happen that they refuse to call an ambulance. I hope he can wait until he gets more help this time. He lives with 3 women... his 2 daughters and his older mother so they probably don't do much .... Their dog hasn't bothered us with barking lately either.... Peaches and their Milo are pretty good about it but not Twinkie.... that little stinker he just heads for the fence everytime he goes out and starts to bark. Now I have to go out with them and get him to do what he is out there to do and not bark or he is back in the house. Maybe he too will learn and he will be able to stay out longer. he really really loves it outside so maybe he will figure it out soon. I think he is rather spoiled, but is not used to a dog on that side and that was their resting place etc as the other side and back have little dogs too.
I have been reading lately so have not yet finished my afghan.... Maybe tomorrow I will work on it some more. :) I worked in the yard cutting back and pulling weeds this afternoon but then it was so humid I decided to wait until the weather is better. I think I will start another book. I got 4 at the library but I think I may have read a couple of them before. thats why I like to get new books --- then I know I didn't read it yet.... I either read too many or my mind is getting bad... don't think its my mind, must be I read soooo many, LOL

New Neighbors

Our new neighbors still have some moving in to do... they had these big red boxes delivered this afternoon .... I guess if you aren't ready to move you can store them in these and then someone comes and picks them up and delivers to your new home...then you unpack them and they come back and pick them up.... It doesn't seem like they are very anxious to open them though. Wonder what that is all about??? They have a dog..... a big puppy so I hear them say. The puppy barks and barks everytime I let my dogs out so of coarse they bark back. They can see each other under the privacy fence the neighbors have.... their "puppy" likes to dig and he tried to dig under both fences through the stones etc... he gave up and went under the fence on another side.... he tried to come over but he found out he couldn't.. the guy got some rabbit fencing and put it under the fence where there was room to crawl under.... The man has a really really loud voice and I hear a lot of what he says.... he was laughing about the dog eating the flowers and then this morning he was braging to someone on the phone that he had a beautiful house and yard... he said there were lots of wild flowers in the back and it was beautiful..... wonder for how long --- hehe.... It will be interesting anyway and soon there will be a pattern so I will know when I can sit out on my patio again and watch the birds and read and just sit and be quiet again.... Hope it doesn't take too long.
Yesterday I got 4 more bags of mulch so today I spread it in the flower gardens that I cleaned up... It really looks good but I have a long way to go. When I sit on the front porch the cocoa bean mulch smells wonderful.
   I worked on my afghan for awhile today and paid the bills and watered the front and back --- I finished reading all my books so I went to the library tonight and got 4 more --- I hope they are good. So now I have something to read when I'm sitting outside. Oh, I fed the birds too and noticed we are out of finch food so tomorrow we will get some of that.  The birds are so used to me now they think I'm just another fixture in the yard I guess. I saw a group of ducks last night already. Do they know something I don't know? Surly fall isn't around the corner yet... I would like some more of these beautiful days so I can just go out and sit comfortably.... it's really been nice around here.

Lovely Day

Just a nice lazy day... I did a little work in the yard and then went to Steins and got some mulch. I wanted just one bag of cocoa beans for the front by the porch and then I wanted to try a different kind so I got some small bark nuggets. I love how they spread and how they look so I will go and get some more bags of these maybe tomorrow or Monday. I don't work on Sunday so I will spread it on Monday. They are 4 bags for $15 which isn't so bad because it is the perfect mulch I think... if anything can be perfect. lol I hope this works for all my small flower gardens because they will look so much neater than and maybe I won't be getting so many weeds.  I must say though the weeds are sure  easier to pull after a rain and after they grow taller. lol Things are looking up as far as the garden is going. It was all the heat that did me in this year. Last year I didn't have any weeds in my garden but i cannot work in heat so I had to let them grow.... too bad huh, lol
My neighbors are sleeping in the house tonight.... I didn't talk to the ones who are living there yet but talked to his brother. He was beat from all the work but happy anyway.... nice man. I hope that is what my neighbor is like too..... oh they have a dog..... I heard it barking and barking and barking and then it set my dogs off..... finally they quieted down. we have a privacy fence between the yards( theirs) so I didn't see the dog but I heard him say his name is Milo. sounds like a bigger dog than a chihuahua though. lol My grandaughter has a cat named Milo.... funny huh?
Mindy went with Alex her boyfriend to his college today.... He is going to Purdue so she is going to be very lonesome I think... kinda far for a week end trip. I think she is planning to do just that though. She won't be going to her college for 3 weeks yet though. She has 2 more weeks to work and then she is going to get her wisdom teeth pulled.... I sure hope that goes well. the Dentist said she should get them pulled so they don't make her teeth crooked because she doesn't have room for them..... so he says. I just wonder sometimes about dentists don't you? Seems everytime I have something wrong he sends me somewhere to have another tooth pulled. the last time the roots on the tooth were snow white yet..... he could have caped it. Soon I will be getting false teeth I think....
So not much else to talk about today.... I was reading another book today and watching the Busch race etc etc etc.... It was a nice day, Hope yours was too, Sandra

another nice rain

First I have to tell you my screen is not dirty, :) thats were Leo patched it after Charlie got at it with his claws.... bad Charlie. Leo should have put some color in the patch he used, huh?
We got another inch of rain last night and the grass is just starting to turn green again... thats nice isn't it.....
We have neighbors moving in and other ones moving out today. The neighbors accross the street are moving before they sold their house and I don't blame them .... they bought a house just a few blocks from here and they have 3 huge garages and a swimming pool and nice landscaping and privacy etc etc... the house just had a remodeling job done.... major remodeling so its a beauty and huge too. They have 3 teenagers and he has 2 trucks and a boat and she has a car and soon the kids will be getting cars too.... happy for them. Hope they sell their house soon to some nice people. :) The nighbors next to us are starting to move in / very slowly. Terese and Jim cleaned it like its a new house so all they have to do is move their things in I guess. Its so funny... first I see all the windows and doors open and then the shades are drawn and then open.... I hope they are having a good time. Its fun to move into a new house isn't it?
I have been working in the yard --- you know weeding and cutting back spent flowers. Leo decided to clean the kitchen and bathroom floors today and vacuum everything.... wasn't that nice. So I washed the scatter rugs and bath mats etc. One of the rugs got frayed and I don't think I can fix it so I will be looking for a better one I guess. One that can be put in the washer without fraying. I have one but its a well used one by the back door so it gets lots of use.... hope I can find a good one this time.
Teri is back home again... this time her Mother had a stroke so she will probably be in town for a couple of weeks. She is staying with her cousin this time as they live close to the hospital. She said her Mom is starting therapy today and she is hoping things start to get better real soon.... I hope so too.

Happy Day

I had a super nice morning today!!!!!! My daughter Shari called and asked if I was home as she wanted to bring my Great Grandaughters over for a visit... they said they wanted to come over to see me and my little dogs... :>) So over they came and we played and talked until she had to be back home because she was babysitting for the kids and Kevin was going to come and pick them upsoon.. ( Kevin is my grandson) She didn't leave fast enough and Kevin came over too and he gave me a great big hug.... oh boy was that nice..... he sure looks nice. I haven't seen him for about a year I bet because he is so busy. Besides his family he works and is going back to school. He told me all about that and you can just see how much he likes that. He also told me his brother Brian has a new girlfriend.... boy am I ever happy for Brian. Remember I said I stopped making that afghan when he broke up with his girlfriend that he was engaged too..... well now he has a new girlfriend and everyone says they haven't seen him so happy.... She has 2 small children and he is enjoying that too... Oh boy I'm so happy you will never know.... see something good was around the corner wasn't it.... Kevin said he would come over again soon some evening when Grandpa was home too. Its ok if he doesn't because this will hold me for awhile now.
So   I had to come and tell someone about it.... I did say something good was around the corner didn't I.... it always happens sooner or later and this was sooner....:) hope all kinds of good things happen for all who reads this too, Sandra

IT RAINED

We finally got an inch of rain! Yesterday Leo cut the lawn and then last night we got an inch of rain.... the start of green grass I hope. Today it is cloudy and very humid but Leo said he heard the humidity will drop and it will clear up so he is getting ready to go fishing. :)  I will have a day to myself :)  after I have my coffee and do my daily chores I will probably sit and finish reading my book"Must Love Dogs"  so far it's just a fun little book to read... I suppose it's a nice little movie too. I will have to rent it when it comes out.
My neighbors are all moved out but the new ones are not coming in until Friday..... give me some quiet time I guess. Its going to be different as they have kids,,,, jr high and high school..... so it probably won't be too quiet. That is probably a good thing though. Life goes on.... The man's mother is moving in with them too, she won't be anything like Terese though as I have never in my life met anyone like her.... I hope she is a nice and a happy person. The mother of the children is not moving there and I don't even know why... they may be divorced or she may have died... and the mother is a widow too I guess. I hope they are happy in their new home. I will welcome them with smiles at least.

EVERYTHING is changing

this is a very hard time for me.... Everything is changing and I wonder why and what will remain when its all over.... just when is that going to happen though I wonder.... Today Peter Jennings died and my neighbors moved all their things out and said good bye to us. I needed both of these people because they made me smarter and taught me so much..... do I stop learning now I wonder......... Life is hard sometimes isn't it..... I am getting used to our new priest and new Pope and all kinds of other smaller things so I will get used to this too won't I.  I will never forget though so I guess sometime in the future I will get to laugh again. Is it my turn now to teach what I know???? I don't think it is.... I want to keep learning, So does that make me selfish I wonder. Terese and Jim had some stuff out to the curb tonight so I went and junk picked.... :)  there was a little white wooden chair there and some old fishing poles... I took the white old wooden chair and leo took 2 of the old fishing poles... he to give to a friend and me to put the chair by my mothers vanity... its a perfect fit and I didn't have a chair or stool that fit there yet.... all were so wide and this one fit just right and Jim had braced it so It doesn't wobble or anything.... It reminds me of her because she is so small too. I bet it was an old chair of her mothers. When I tell her I took it she will smile and be happy I wanted it too. She told me its only a mile away and I should ride my bike over... haha  I haven't ridden it for 2 years now... and she knows it too.
It's going to take me a long long time to get over losing Peter Jennings though I think... I kept waiting to see him again because I figured he would be back.... you see he is the one that told me the news every night and anytime in between....
I can hardly wait to see what happiness I am going to experience in the future because it will happen because Iam about as sad as I can be right now..... thats what happens in life--- right? Is that what happens to you too? When bad things happen good is just around the corner? I hope so.

Hibiscus in bloom

I just came in for a few minutes to show you my pretty hibiscus that is blooming now... those blossoms are even bigger than they look in the picture... I love it don't you? I never imagined we could grow plants like this in Wisconsin but I planted it last year and it made it through the winter. It is in the sun and close to the house so that is probably helping. I hope it lasts for many many years. :)  Now I have to go out and water the flowers as its been 2 days and they are looking pretty bad. So if I want to have flowers in bloom I had better get out and water. I have been working in the yard for the last 2 days but its still sooooo hot and soooo dry. Leo hasn't had to cut the grass in probably a month now... he is getting anxious about it too as it may just dry out completly... I hope it rains soon. It rained somewhere the other day but we didn't get a drop. last month we were lucky if we had a half an inch and nothing so far this month.... when we do get it I suppose it won't be able to stop. Another Beautiful day

I was sitting on the patio yesterday drinking coffee and trying to take pictures of a hummingbird and butterfly... I did get some nice pictures of the butterfly but I thought I would put this one in as the hummingbird and the butterfly are in the same shot... If you look close you can see them. :)
  There is a Packer scrimmage game on tv tonight... Leo and Gary are interested but I say its way to early to be watching a bunch of guys all dressed in those crazy uniforms and " playing" a silly "game"  Its big business just like all professional sports these days and they are all trying to see who can get the most money. Packers did well that way tonight as the stadium was full. Now they are giving away sweaty uniforms for some "lucky" fans.... how revp;tomg... :(   I guess I'm not much of a football fan .... at least not in August... try me again in October or November when there aren't any races or baseball. :)
I talked to my neighbors this morning and they were all set to sign the papers and get started on their move.... signed at noon and were driving boxes to the new place minutes after... I am happy they are getting what they want but I came in and cried. It's gong to be quiet around here not talking to them every day but I know its for a good reason... its time to learn something new.... Wonder what it will be? Hope someone there likes to talk once in awhile. Or I will just have to make more afghans I guess.

A little bit of rain?

Someone asked what my afghan looked like and others seemed interested so I decided to put a picture of a work in progress. I'm working on the center panel today and after that is finished I crochet all the panels together... I have 2 more of the strips to put on each end too. I will put a picture in when its finished but at the rate I'm going you  might forget what I'm doing by that time, LOL  I should be finished by the end of the month. I read and do other work etc too so it takes awhile.
    It's getting cloudy and we may get some rain tonight. I hope. I had to water the flowers in front this evening though as they were so dry and I can't depend on the rain. Last time we got a lot of rain it was only 1/2 of an inch here. Not enough but nice to get. We are at the point where we will take any and all we can get. :) It was 90 again today... but nice and cool in the house... air conditioning is so nice on days like this, isn't it?
Gotta go and see about supper now...Dan came over with a nice sized bowl of blackberries again today so I think I know what dessert is.He said he won't be picking any more this year but will save for others now... He is all scratched up from picking them.... I think he loves his mother don't you? I love him too!

Warm and humid

Today was warm and humid and this journal is seeming like a weather report. :(  It will get better I promise but I am having a very hard time smiling. You see my feet are all swollen up again today and I'm uncomfortable..... very uncomfortable. I will get better soon and it will pass and my smile will be a giggle soon I bet.  I didn't do much today.... watered the flowers in the back ~ can't water the lawn as there is still a restriction on that here. Rain is in the forcast but you know its one of those 40% possibilities and you never know but its going to cool off a bit. Hope less humid too. Do I ever sound like a chronic complainer... well I try not to be... I will try harder as I know it's just as bad if not worse everywhere else isn't it.
After coming in from watering I worked on my afgan until I finished the second panel and started the last one. Leo had to go to the doctor for a check up .... remember the cancer that was removed from his eye lid? Doctor said its looking fine... says for him to come back in a year and a half just to be sure its not coming back. It looks good and thats all that matters isn't it...
We have some new neighbors accross the street now but only waved so far... they are so busy and have a lot of helpers coming and going. Terese and Jim our next door neighbors are just about ready to move now too. She doesn't have time to talk to me any more and I sure do miss that.... but she wants to move so I should just get used to it and smile for her ..... We will be getting new neighbors in about a week I guess ..... crossing my fingers that they are nice.  This is not a good time for me as I like things to stay constant I guess.... its not like that though is it? I have to keep busy and just mind my own business I guess and I will get over it sooner or later. Something good has to be around the corner because thats the way it always is... When something bad happens or when I can't stand it anymore something changes and something good happens.... Yesterday one of my sons came over and brought me some blackberry jam and some raspberry jam he had just finished making.... and we talked and talked for about 3 hours... now that was a good thing and it did make me smile. He is a good son and when he comes over he always makes me smile and laugh a lot too... Actually life is pretty good isn't it.... HOT AGAIN

It's HOT again.... darn it anyway. I thought we were finished with it. Seems like the heat is a lot like last winters cold and we can't get rid of either.... I hope we are finished with extreme weather now and we will have closer to normal for a few years. One thing I can say is the flowers etc sure did well ~ of coarse I had to do a bit of watering to help it along. I was out early this morning watering and then I did a bit of weeding close to the porch and it looks better now... want to hear a good one? Joke was on me and Leo ----- we saw what at first I thought was a weed and then Leo said it was a tomato plant as it had a little yellow flower on that looked like it could be and the leaves were simular.... It wasn't a tomato plant... darn. We thought the birds had planted a seed or something and we were telling everyone all we will have to do is reach out when we are sitting on the porch and pick a nice ripe tomato.... It turned out to be a nice picker weed... the pickers were starting to get really nice and big finally... It was fun to watch anyway. I have another plant in front that everyone said was a weed but to me it looked to pretty to be a weed but I don't remember planting it so anyway I decided to let it grow. Its a pretty weed and a nice soft blue green color leaf. Guess what was on it today... a pretty cornflower blue daisey like flower so weed or not its staying :>) Isn't gardening fun? Even if its too hot to stay out very long its still fun. I have some real tomatoes ready for picking for supper... some of the sweet 100's. I love those little ones for just eating like popcorn or to put in my salads.
