I just wanted to add a bit of Christmas in my journal today before I start my work .... lots to do today getting supper ready for the kids and their families... Hope everything turns out good. I should have more faith in myself but I can never relax until it is all prepared and looking good.
I hope you are having a nice day today .... I will come in later to let you know how it all went. Sandra
I finished .... but while waiting for them to come I am so tired I could cry.. how does everyone do it I wonder. Am I just a wimp or what. I really should be dressing up to look pretty but I don't even care. Tomorrow is Christmas and I will dress up for Christmas even if I don't see anyone but the people at church... all I can say is it must be nice to be a man and just let the little woman do all the work. bah humbug. I never did consider cooking to be any fun... just something I had to do day in and day out to feed my family of 9 and now I am so tired of it I could screem. Why does everyone always want to go to Mothers and Grandmothers don't they know How hard it can be.... Should I tell them or just keep them guessing. LOL Merry Christmas anyway... tomorrow will be a GREAT day. :)

Hi Sandra thanks for the link It looks as if you have a white Christmas there you are lucky. Will read back entries later too busy like yourself today. Love Joan.
Your house is so beautiful, just like a magazine about Christmas. Your family is lucky to have such a great cook. I wonder if you would notice an extra guest LOL. Merry Christmas.
I kind of feel that way too. It's just too big a job now. The older I get, the harder it is to put on a nice meal and get the house ship-shape. This year I'm only warming the ham, and everyone else is bringing the rest. I don't enjoy cooking that much either. Maybe next year I'll just wait for someone else to take over.
Your living room sure looks pretty. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.
Oh I love your tree! It is beautiful and I'm sure you will get through this fine. I'm so tired too and had to take a nap today and now I feel somehow behind. I'm wondering if there is a church service tomorrow because work was going on today and we missed it. So much that goes on this time of year... we are also getting slammed at the holiday time with work too. It's so odd to be so slow with the business and then get busy around the holiday. Have a Merry Christmas and a good night's sleep. Hugs,
Lisa
Your house is gorgeous. I can only imagine how you feel. Here's my 2 cents - I think you should set out a table of snacks and sweets. That's what we did here and everyone liked it better than a dinner and one person didn't have all the work. I brought shrimp and cocktail sauce, taco dip and tortilla chips, and ham and cheese snadwiches on dinner rolls. Kate made cocktail meatballs, dip and apples, cold veggie pizza, and artichoke bruschetta. Marsha made veggies and dip, nuts, and a cheese platter. Grandma made cookies and brought a 2 lb. Whitman's Sampler of chocolates. It was wonderful and we're all stuffed. I say skip the meal and let everyone bring a hors d'oeuvre or two, put out one of your pretty tablecloths and light some candles. You'd enjoy the evening so much more, and after all you're a Mom and Grandma not a caterer lol. Everyone wants to go "home for Christmas" so you're pretty much stuck there ;)
What a lovely home you have. The tree is just lovely. How do you keep Charlie out of it. :-)
Now, before things get too crazy you need to slip away and have a Calgon moment. Relax and drift away with your thoughts and memories.
Merry Christmas,
Deb
