My daughter came over today and asked me to go flower shopping with her.... I couldn't refuse so off we went. You would not believe how hot it was in those green houses. I could only stand it for a little while at a time but I did manage to get a few pretty flowers. when I got home I planted them in the window box inserts and my husband was kind enough to finally put the box back on the house. he made a new one over the winter and I am very happy to have it back in place. The flowers always look nice from inside the house to as we sit at the table and eat especially. Almost inside and the cat can't chew on them.... I always liked window boxes. They are so easy to plant and water etc. This one is in the shade so I have some pretty begonias in again this year. Some years I can't find pretty ones but I couldn't pass these up. actually they were prettier then they look because a few big blooms broke off on the way. I put them in a bowl of water and they are pretty floating now. :) I bought a sweet 100 tomato plant also but haven't figured out where to plant it yet.... those little cherry tomatoes are so sweet and I love eating them ( like candy) and good for you too.
Now we have our work finished and its raining again.... oh boy. at least it isn't as hot as it was in that green house. Wonder if the flowers will adjust. I hope they do without covering them.

I miss him like he was part of me that left. I read a lot now and spend time on the computer.especially in winter.

Sandra your window boxes look really lovely ,I can imagine how nice it must be to look out at them,from your dining area , and the joy of seeing the lovely flowers from the outside too ,what a lovely idea ,I hope you are feeling better now .......Jan xx
Your window is picture perfect!! The bird feeder must draw in some pretty birds to look at too.
How nice!! I have never had a window box. Maybe if I suggest it to Pete, I may get one in 10 or 12 years. LOL - Barbara
The window box and flowers are lovely. I've never had one but always think they are beautiful. We just have a huge pot on the front steps and other wise the flowers are the kind that come up every year in our flower beds. Next weekend we'll probably go flower shopping for that.
