I went out in the yard today and did a little springtime planting. I planted 2 Rose of Sharon bushes. One is white and the other purple or lavendar. The third one I promised to my daughter Shari. It should be pretty too. She picked the pink and red one. Can't wait to see them grow and flower. I also plante 2 honeysuckle vines because the one I have is growing so nice this year I figured that was a good one to grow on the other side of the arbor. Leo is cutting back and tying up branches from the snow storm and then he cut the grass. It is beginning to look nice already. The leaves are coming out on a lot of the trees already and the weather is warming up. supposed to be 70 today and in the upper 70's tomorrow.
I'm doing well on my diet. think its 3 weeks now and I lost 8.5 #'s
Maybe later I can sit on the porch for a bit. My shoulder and back have been aching lately so I won't be doing any more yard work today. Im taking it slow so I can do a little every day. The daffodils and some of the tulips are in bloom and they look so pretty and it looks like my yellow lilac is going to bloom this year for the first time too. It should be a beautiful summer.
Take care and enjoy Spring,
Sandra

Your flowers all sound so beautiful. You'll have to take a picture of that yellow lilac -- I've never seen one of those before. It cleared up around 1:00 this afternoon here and it's supposed to be wonderfully sunny tomorrow. It is so nice to finally have Spring ! 'On Ya' - ma
I'm anxious to see how your rose of sharon does. I've been wanting one of those myself but have heard they don't do well in our gardening zone. I'm searching for a drought tolerant ground cover for under the house overhang on the south side. I haven't been able to get anything to grow there although I've tried and tried. It sounds like the trees from last winter's storm are going to make it. My twig arbor is about to fall over I think so am looking for a replacement for that too. I sure will hate to see it go though. Happy gardening, it's finally time!
Looking forward to pictures of your garden again. Our trees are full out now very early for us and the daffodils are past still have some of the later tulips. LOve and take care Joan.
Congratulations on your weight loss. That's a wonderful achievement!!!!
I can't wait to see what your garden looks like this year. It's always so lovely
