JUST ANOTHER DAY

My hummingbird vine is ready for the hummingbirds ~ I have seen a few but none by the vine yet.. The flowers are just opening so they will be there soon. We always get a lot of hummingbirds drinking their necter here. I can sit in my chair and watch .... I'm glad I planted this vine many years ago. We had another one too but it was on a fence we had to take down and there wasn't anything for it to hold on to so we dug it out.... My husband isn't fond of these vines because they like to spread so we didn't put up another on the new fence... I did start one on the other clothes line though. I think the hummers will be happy to learn that. You know what else is neat about this vine the way I have it growing? Little birds make their nests in there and I have birds singing all summer into the fall. Then when the leaves are gone they still come and sit on the bare branches and sing.. Its a good thing.
I don't know what I will do today... was going to work in the little garden by the shed because the good day lilies are starting to blossom and I have to cut some things back and pull some things out if I want to see them and take pictures etc... Looks like it might rain though. We'll see. I got a new diet book I would like to read and see if it will work for me.... something has too. The doctor said why don't you just try cutting back.... thats no fun though, lol  I really need to do that..... I will today and see how it goes.... wish me luck.
Gotta go and eat breakfast...... funny thing is you always have to eat. It was so easy to quit smoking. you just quit but you can't just quit eating can you... and I guess I just love to eat... I guess. I will have to tell myself I don't really love it so much.
Hope everyone is going to have a nice day today, take care. Sandra

It seems like the older we get, the fewer pleasures we're supposed to have.  My problem is there isn't much I don't like... diets are very hard to do.

I keep thinking if I exercised more that might help, but I don't do that either.

Good LucK with yours,  If it works, you'll have to share with us.  'On Ya'  -ma

Wow that's one big vine, but it sure is pretty.  Maybe you can catch some hummingbirds in the lense of your camera.  I love hummngbirds, they are so pretty.

I haven't seen but one or two hummer this summer. Last year I had three feeders I could hardly keep filled there were so many. They were lined up on the deck railing sometimes. I change the nectar every week to keep it fresh, but there's hardly ever any gone. The orioles came back though in big numbers. I've been going through a 2-lb jar of jam every week. The other day there was even a robin eating the jam which was fun to see. Hope you get some pictures of the hummers on the vine. Would be a nice picture to send in to the paper.

I love the pictures! Is "hummingbird vine " the name of that vine? Also, has it ever caused you to break out? The reason I ask is that when we use to live out of the city, we had one that looks alot like that one of yours near our house and whenever I touched it, to get the flowers, I would break out like I had gotten into poison oak. Some old person told us that the vine we had was called "cow itch" ...it would break me out and I would itch like crazy! Maybe it was a different vine?
I put hummingbird feeders out on my porch this year and I was so thrilled to see the first little fellow come to drink!
Take care Sandra!
