I thought I would add a picture I took last year.... it's enough to make anyone smile isn't it?
Not much has changed since yesterday because it's humid outside... I don't tolerate humid days very well anymore I guess.... I swell ...... :(
I shut the doors and windows and turned the air on and I feel a little better now. I will be happy when we get those nice cool days back with the low humidity again I guess... would like warm and low but I guess that is asking way too much.
I was watching a cooking show a little while ago and the Italian lady was making spagetti and meat balls... boy was that making me hungry. First she makes the sauce using up to 5 different kinds of canned tomatoes which she simmers for a couple of hours... she makes the meatballs out of beef and pork and bread crumbs, eggs, par. cheese and spices. She said she can't give that away ... but the thing is she does something next I have never heard of or thought to do..... she throws the meat balls right into the sauce and she cooks it for another hour... she said it flavors it nicely..... (she doesn't see a need to fry or bake the meat balls first) Have you ever tried it that way ????? I think I may give it a try...... they really looked delicious.
Hope your day is a good one so far, Sandra

I always cook my meat like that...and I mostly do this in my crockpot...the meat gets so tender that it melts in your mouth...
I've tried it, but I have a recipe that calles for baking the meatballs in the oven on a cookie sheet, that I like much better. So I do it that way....Every one has a favorite it seems. 'On Ya' - ma
Sounds good, I'm been hungry for speghetti and meata balls. Today I went and got the ingredients for Booyah as I'm hungry for that too. I finished my four week diet and now I'm thinking maybe Jenny Craig or Nutisystem, but then I saw an article in the Good Housekeeping about a frozen food diet so I'm going to look that over too. I'll have to go back and look at the picture now, must be big as I had to wait for it to load.
What a great picture. That little guy is super cute! I would love to get one. Lelly
Hi Sandra,
Yes, you can throw the raw meatballs right into the sauce and let it simmer for hours and they cook all the way through very nicely if you cook them for a few hours... I would say at least an hour or two -- just not as browned if you fry them first. That scarecrow is so cute. Hugs,
Lisa
Oh what a cute little girl on your porch! I have a scarecrow sitting in my chair but it isn't nearly this cute. Paula
